Seasonal workers

Seasonal workers from abroad for agriculture, horticulture and tourism

We supply manual workers from Asia, Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe for seasonal positions in Poland. We conduct recruitment, employment legalisation and organise accommodation.

Seasonal recruitment

Why foreign workers in the seasonal sector

During the season, farmers, growers and tourism businesses need a large number of workers for a short period, often unavailable on the local market. Employing foreign workers requires knowledge of procedures: oświadczeniowej, zezwoleń na pracę sezonową (seasonal work permits) or powiadomień (notifications) for Ukrainian citizens. Harvest and tourism season deadlines do not allow for delays, so the process should be prepared before work begins.

JOBCEN operates as a temporary employment agency and advisory agency, managing the entire process: recruitment abroad, preparation of documents for employment legalisation and arrival logistics. We provide an English-speaking coordinator and adaptation support in the first weeks of work, and we give a guarantee for the hired worker.

  • Recruitment of seasonal workers from Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe
  • Employment legalization electronically and through labour offices
  • Polish language and industry-specific course
  • Attractive accommodation conditions

FAQ

Common employer questions

Answers to questions about employing seasonal workers from abroad.

Which legalisation procedures apply in the seasonal sector?

Three paths are available: a statement on entrusting work to a foreigner for citizens of Armenia, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine, a seasonal work permit for agriculture, horticulture and tourism, and a notification for Ukrainian citizens holding PESEL UKR. From 1 June 2025, applications are submitted exclusively electronically. The choice of path depends on the foreigner's citizenship, sector and planned employment period.

How quickly can seasonal workers be sourced?

Recruitment and employment legalisation of foreign workers usually take from 2 to 7 months. For Ukrainian citizens with a PESEL UKR number, the process may be shorter, as they can perform seasonal work without a permit and the employer submits only a notification within 7 days of commencing work. Therefore, recruitment should be started before the season.

What are the costs of employing foreign workers?

The cost depends on the cooperation model and the chosen legalization procedure. A single fixed rate includes all elements, without breaking them down into separate items.

Does JOBCEN arrange accommodation for seasonal workers?

JOBCEN offers accommodation or helps find it. The standard and location are agreed taking into account the workplace and commute. Accommodation is part of adaptation support and helps maintain team stability during the season.

How to deal with the language barrier during the season?

Employees participate in a Polish language and industry-specific course before and after arrival. This helps them understand instructions, OHS rules and workplace procedures faster. Additionally, an English- and Russian-speaking coordinator supports communication in the first weeks of employment.

Who is responsible for employment legality and documentation?

JOBCEN is responsible for recruitment, preparation of employment legalisation documents, language courses and adaptation support. The host employer signs the contract with the worker and bears responsibility for working conditions compliant with Polish law. Under the temporary work model, an 18-month limit applies within any 36 consecutive months with a single host employer.
